Caravans of Contentment

This third exhibition about my family’s holidays in North Wales was produced in collaboration with Professor John K. Walton, an expert on the history and development of the British seaside. Walton provided the text for this exhibition and the title, Caravans of Contentment

The basis for this exhibition was my tracings of family snapshots that were superimposed on to the back of postcards sent to my family. These digital images were initially shown in the exhibition Postcards from Rhyl.  Three of the tracings were enlarged as wall drawings. The subject of each of these images was caravan holidays.

Accompanying the prints and wall drawings were posters. The posters reproduced collections of family photographs, postcards and print ephemera and stood in lieu of display cabinets. They were designed by Julia García Hernández.
